Should prayer be allowed in public schools?

Claim:   Prayer should be allowed in public schools.

Data:  Freedom of speech is guaranteed by the 1st Amendment and the freedom of religion is a form of free speech protected by the 1st Amendment.

Warrant:  Because religious freedom is a privilege that is protected by the 1st Amendment, then as a citizen of the United States we should be able to pray in public schools.

Backing:  The Constitution of the United States protects U.S. citizens rights and freedoms.  Because of this protection by the Constitution, prayer cannot be banned from public schools because that would be taking guaranteed and protected rights away from citizens.

Qualifier:  Prayer is acceptable at school most of the time, unless the person praying is being disruptive during class or the people around them.

Rebuttle:  Prayer should be allowed in public schools, although there are private religious schools that are available for people to attend if they would like to practice religion openly.
